KUCHING: A scouts investiture ceremony was held at the St Joseph’s Private Secondary School on July 6.

“Scouts around the world follow a long-standing tradition of investiture, which has its roots in the very beginning of the movement,”it said in a statement on today (July 8).

The ceremony reflected the dedication and commitment of the school’s scout group members and their leaders in carrying on a proud tradition of service and leadership that originated over 100 years ago.

The investiture ceremony is a significant milestone in a scout’s journey, marking the confirmation of commitment to the fundamental principles and values of scouting.

As they took their oaths, Jerome Lim, the group scout leader, presented each new member with their neckerchief and forage cap which symbolise their responsibility to serve and become better individuals, embodying the spirit of scouting.
