BINTULU: Heavy rain on Thursday morning forced 170 pupils of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Kampung Nyalau here to stay off school.
Prolonged rain flooded the area including the school’s administration block, teachers’ quarters, and the academic block.
At the highest level, flood water was as deep as three feet high, forcing the school to
cancel lessons for the day.
Seven firemen from the Samalaju fire station were mobilised in response to a flood alert at 10am.
According to the operation commander officer Hashim Morshidi, most of the school’s essential properties were moved to a higher location as part of a comprehensive measure taken to limit property damage.
