KUCHING: Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Batu Lintang, one of the oldest schools in the city, will soon receive a much-needed upgrade to its facilities following a RM110,840 allocation for new tables and chairs for students, teachers, and staff.
Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii said that his office had approved the funding in response to the school’s request to replace outdated furniture.
“The condition of the furniture at SK Batu Lintang has been deteriorating and requires urgent replacement. With this allocation, the school will receive new tables and chairs to ensure a more conducive learning environment,” he said on Facebook.
Last year, Dr Yii’s office also contributed RM118,300 to refurbish the school’s assembly hall. The renovation project, which has been completed, has provided a more spacious venue for school activities.
“With this new assembly hall, students no longer have to crowd together in a confined space during gatherings,” he added.
Dr Yii expressed his hope that these efforts would enhance the comfort and overall learning experience of the school community.
