PADAWAN: An individual who entered a school without permission was detained by security guards and handed over to the district police.

The Padawan district police headquarters received a call regarding the man who entered SK Landeh, Jalan Batu 10 yesterday at 6.15am.

A patrol unit was sent to the school to investigate and met the school security guards who took proactive steps to detain the suspicious man who was later found to be suffering from mental illness which was confirmed by his family members.

“Later, the man was brought home by his family and will be referred to Kota Sentosa Hospital for treatment,” a police spokesman said.

Meanwhile, members of the public have been advised to alert the police if they came across any criminal activities or suspicious characters in their residential areas.
