SEBAUH: Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sebauh selected Kampung Hilir Sebauh here to run the Pupils Integration For Unity (Rimup) programme last Thursday. Rimup was one of the Education Ministry’s agenda aimed at establishing better understanding, mutual respect and friendship among the pupils and teachers of diverse backgrounds in national schools (SK) and Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (SJK).

Earlier in his opening remarks, SK Sebauh Headmaster Bernard Tahim Bael said the event had been implemented at Rumah Bare, Sebauh in 2016 and Rumah Bana, Sungai Serakit, Sebauh in 2015.

“For 2018, the school selects Kampung Hilir Sebauh to host this programme with the cooperation from Kampung Hulu Sebauh Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) led by KK Zaiton Ali, Kampung Hilir Sebauh JKKK led by KK Uchau Mat and SK Sebauh parent-teacher association (PTA) led by John Mathew,” he said.

Themed ‘Perpaduan melalui Kebudayaan’, the event activity included demonstrating multi-ethnic traditional dishes in Sarawak such as chicken and fish ‘pansuh’, ‘linut’, ‘kuih jala’, ‘kuih penyaram’, ‘kuih sepit’, ‘lemang’ as well as ‘umai ikan’. On top of that, about 700 guests who attended the event were wearing traditional costumes.
