SARIKEI: Ten schools in the Repok constituency received school shoe donations from Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii on Tuesday.
The schools that benefited from the donations are SJK Su Kwong, SJK Sze Lu, SJK Bulat, SJK Tiong Ho, SJK St Martin, SJK Kiew Mang, SJK Chung Hien, SK Udin, SK Balong, and SK Sg Paoh.
According to a news report from the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), Huang assured that he remains committed to supporting educational welfare programmes for the local community.
“These school shoe donations could help ease the burden on parents.
“I will continue to implement educational welfare programmes to assist the local community,” he said during the 2024 School Shoes Aid presentation ceremony.
Students showed visible joy upon receiving the donations from Huang’s representative.
The schools also expressed their gratitude to Huang for his ongoing support, including the upgrading of school facilities through the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) project to ensure a conducive learning environment.
