BINTULU: SK St Anthony here stands proud after it obtained praise from Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin in his special message on Teachers’ Day yesterday.

Its headmaster Francis Dampa said he was touched because not only his school but also SJK (C) Kai Ming, Bintulu were among the few schools that received special praise from the prime minister.

“Coincidentally, the teachers’ day celebration also coincided with my anniversary for being appointed as the headmaster of SK St Anthony in 2017,” he told New Sarawak Tribune’s sister paper Suara Sarawak yesterday.

He said the recognition showed that the prime minister was aware of the achievements of the young children here.

“Muhyiddin’s speech was indeed an encouragement and motivation for me and the whole school to continue to inspire and create more success for the school in future,” he said.

The prime minister in his speech yesterday had expressed his gratitude for the students in continuing to make the country proud at the international level.
