KUCHING: In light of World Toilet Day, the importance of maintaining clean toilets, particularly in schools, has been highlighted.
Mimbar Permuafakatan Ibu Bapa Malaysia (MAPIM) Sarawak president Datuk Rozalix Edi Wahab supported this initiative, citing its role in cultivating moral values in children.
“Instilling attitudes and practices of cleanliness in toilets from a young age ensures that children remain considerate of both their own and others’ needs.
“If we desire clean toilets for ourselves, we should expect the same for others,” he told Suara Sarawak recently.
Celebrated annually on November 19, the United Nations (UN) focuses on promoting a culture of clean toilets, with different themes each year to address global cleanliness and health issues related to sanitation.
“These initiatives extend beyond schools, teaching the community to value and care for public toilet facilities,” he added.
