MIRI: SMK Dato Permaisuri (Team B) and SK Jalan Bintang claimed top honours in their respective categories at the inaugural Sarawak Traffic Games Miri Division, held today (Nov 23) at Taman Bulatan.
In the primary school category, SJKC North secured first place, followed by SJKC Chung Hua.
SK South and SK Miri rounded out the top four.
For secondary schools, SMK St Joseph emerged victorious, with SMK Dato Permaisuri (Team A) taking second place.
SMK Lutong and SMK St Columba secured the third and fourth positions, respectively.
A total of five secondary and five primary schools from the Miri Division participated in the event.
The participating schools were SMK Chung Hua, SMK St Joseph, SMK St Columba, SMK Dato Permaisuri, SMK Lutong, SK Jalan Bintang, SK Sayed Othman, SK Miri, SJKC Chung Hua Miri, SJKC North, and SJKC South.
The Sarawak Traffic Games, which returned after a nine-year hiatus, aims to promote road safety awareness among students through engaging activities.
It was officiated by Minister for Transport and Senadin assemblyman Datuk Seri Lee Kim Shin.
