KUCHING: Sarawak Centre of Performance Excellence (SCOPE) was launched at Institute City Campus (IIC) in Bangunan Yayasan Sarawak, Jalan Masjid here, yesterday.

The event was officiated at by Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg and witnessed by Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly Datuk Amar Mohd Asfia Awang Nassar, Chief Executive Officer of SCOPE, Dr Asleena Helmi and Board of Directors of SCOPE, Datu Dr Sabariah Putit, Datu Abu Bakar Marzuki and Haji Azmi Bujang.

In conjunction with the launch an exchange of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between SCOPE and its strategic partners was also held.

An MoU was exchanged between SCOPE represented by its Chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani and representatives from SCOP’s partners namely, President of Sarawak Business Federation, Datuk Abang Haji Abdul Karim Tun Openg, Managing Director of Singapore-Cambodia International Academy, Anselm Chu Jin Hwa, Senior Principal of Hay Group Sdn Bhd, Mohd Iesa Morshidi and Group CEO and Executive Director of Ratings Agency Malaysia, Datuk Seri K. Govindan.

SCOPE Sdn Bhd is a private entity which provides training for the private sector.

SCOPE also conducts knowledge sharing platform known as SCOPE Circle, a monthly-run programme where speakers from reputable organisations will share insights on various fields of expertise.

SCOPE Circle which focuses on Energy Management had Vice President of Transformer Sales Asia Pacific, SIEMENS Peter Vogel and Associate Dean from European School of Management and Technology Berlin, Christoph Burger gave participants an overview on Germany’s changing energy markets and its professional advancement in energy and resource sectors.

SCOPE also announced partnerships with these reputable organisations, allowing both parties to collaborate and develop programme modules, promote knowledge exchange and allows for academic-industrial collaborative activities such as conferences, publications, workshops and seminars.

The partnership also allows SCOPE to leverage on expert resources and specialists drawn from these respective institutions.
