KUCHING: The Scout Association of Malaysia, Sarawak Branch is organising the Matang Warrior Trail Run on July 31.
The event was officially launched by Pakan assemblyman Tan Sri William Mawan Ikom, who is also the Sarawak Scout Council president, here on Tuesday (April 26).
Mawan said the run was a well-thought event to foster brotherhood among scouts and the public, especially sports enthusiasts.
He invited the public to take part in the run while also enjoying the Matang campsite strategically situated at the foot of Gunung Serapi, Matang.
Organising committee chairman Lee Kong Shin said the run would feature three categories – 1KM Kid Dash (age 12 and below), 5KM Jungle Trail (age 13 and above) and 10KM Jungle Trail (age 18 and above).
“The 10KM event also offers attractive prizes and all participants are entitled to T-shirts, medals and drinks.
“Only participants and individuals who are fully vaccinated can take part.”
Registration forms can be obtained from the scout headquarters, Jalan Batu Lintang here during office hours and also from the Telegram of Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia Cawangan Sarawak.
