SDEC banks on DiVA to attain 500 start-ups

KUCHING: The Digital Village Accelerator (DiVA) programme showcased six start-ups which demonstrated remarkable potential, embodying the spirit of technological advancement and entrepreneurial excellence.

Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (SDEC) chief executive officer Sudarnoto Osman said the six start-ups namely Fly Technology Agriculture Sdn Bhd; Belibeli Super App; MyScripts; Satok Bridge; FORMETA PLT; and Nebula underwent a rigorous five-month programme, receiving invaluable support including grants, mentorships, market access, master classes, and auxiliary support for their growth journey.

He pointed out that DiVA’s emphasis on revenue generation, market expansion, and investment potential has empowered these start-ups to thrive in the dynamic landscape of technology entrepreneurship.

“Through DiVA programme, we believe that with persistence, guidance, and support from the state, federal partners and private sectors, SDEC would be able to achieve the goal of attaining 500 high tech start-ups,” he said.

He said this when attending SDEC Digital Village Accelerator (DiVA) 2024 Demo Day at TEGAS Digital Village here Tuesday.

He pointed out that another highlight of the programme is the collaboration with NEXEA, DiVA’s official Accelerator Partner, providing start-ups with access to up to RM2,000,000 worth of beneficial resources.

“Through this partnership, start-ups have leveraged essential support to propel their ventures forward and accelerate their growth trajectory,” he said.

The DiVA programme with a total investment of more than RM3mil is a flagship programme under the Sarawak Digital and Innovation Ecosystem.

It is an accelerator programme with the objective of scaling up Sarawakian tech start-ups through providing resources, investment access, networking opportunities, mentor guidance, and market access.
