BINTULU: The search and rescue (SAR) operation for a missing elderly man from RPR Tanjong Kidurong here resumed within a 150-metre radius today (Jan 20).

On Monday (Jan 18), the SAR team carried out the search within a 200-metre radius from the location where the victim was believed to have gone missing.

However, as of today, no clues were found.

Sempurai Samat, 77, was reported missing by his son on Monday (Jan 18), after he failed to return home when he went out to his orchard, which was located behind Columbia Hospital here, on Sunday (Jan 17) morning.

The SAR operation today started at 9.07am and it involved Bintulu firemen, the police, canine (K-9) unit, Civil Defence Force (APM) and villagers.
