Search for missing woman enters fifth day

SARATOK: A search and rescue (SAR) operation for a 69-year-old woman who was reported missing on Nov 13 after she failed to return home from her farm in Kampung Semarang, Pusa drew a blank on Wednesday (Nov 18).

Saratok Bomba Chief, Nazry Mohamat said the victim’s still could not be traced.

“We are facing a big challenge because the victim did not leave any clues and evidence.

“The SAR team was divided into three sectors A, B and C with a strength of 38 people and the operation focused on the river area and the victim’s garden area with an estimated radius of 2.5 square kilometers,” he said.

The woman, identified as Rahobah Morni, was said to have went out alone on foot from her house in Kampung Semarang, Pusa to the family’s farm in the morning of Nov 13.

When she failed to return home by 4.30pm, her sister sought the assistance of the villagers to look for her.

After all efforts to locate the woman went futile, a missing person’s report was lodged at Pusa Police Station that same day.
