Siburan:The Jalan padawan project needs a new contractor to implement it.
According to Tarat assemblyman Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, the RM80 million project could not be implemented, partly due to shortage of labour and requests for compensation from local residents.
“When COVID-19 hit, the contractor said that the workers from Indonesia could not enter, causing him to withdraw from the project.
“In addition to that, the residents are asking for additional compensations even though they have already been compensated,” he said.
Sagah hoped the folk in the area, especially Padawan Road users, would continue to be patient while the search for a new contractor was on.
“i hope that the people here will give their full support to the upgrading of Padawan Road so that the project can be implemented in the near future,” he said.
In the meantime, Sagah also officiated at 37 completed projects under the rural transformation programme (RTP) and minor rural project (MRP) of Kampung Peraya which were carried out from 2018 to 2024 on Saturday (Dec 6).
The total costs of all the projects here amounted to RM4 million.
