SIBU: The search for Kuta Jenang came up to no avail as the operation enters its seventh day.

The State Fire and Rescue Operation Centre (Bomba) said various agencies and villagers including the police joined in the operation to look for the 81-year-old man.

The search radius is five kilometres from the control post in Zone A, B and C. Boats were also deployed.

“Police K9 unit was also deployed in the area as well as drone unit from the Police Air Wing Unit to get a better view of the area,” it said.

Today’s search and rescue (SAR) operation started at 10.30am after a briefing given by Sarawak Commissioner Police CP Datuk Mohd Azman Ahmad Sapri.

However, due to the rain and darker conditions, the operation was stopped at 4.15pm. The SAR operation will continue tomorrow.

Kuta was reported missing by his wife after he went into a forest at Kem Belia Kemuyang on Aug 20 and did not return home.
