KUCHING: A programme to scout for new talents in muaythai called Search for New Muaythai Talents programme was held in Bintulu recently. A total of 30 boys and girls students took part in the programme which was held by Bintulu Division Muaythai Association and Hardcore Fitness Gym in collaboration Sarawak Muaythai Association (PMNS) . PMNS president Jumaat Ibrahim was happy the event has received encouraging response from the participants.
“We can see that there is great support from all those involved and this is a very positive sign for the development of muaythai sport,” he said. According to him, the objective of the programme was to provide opportunities to the participants to gain new experience in the sport. “Through the programme we can also identify new potential talents whom we can train to become good exponents for higher level competitions, including to represent the state and nation,” he added. B i n t u l u M u a y t h a i Development Centre coach Farid Dahalan also hoped the programme can be extended in future.
