MALAYSIAN rock legend Search had announced its highly anticipated concert will be held on August 12 at the Arena of Stars, Resorts World Genting. Dubbed the “Konsert Fantasia Bulan Salju” (Winter Month’s Fantasia Concert), it is inspired by the group’s 1990s monster hit Fantasia Bulan Madu.
Search members Datuk Amy, Nasir, Hillary Ang and Man Kidal — all in their 60s now — will make history as the first local rock band to perform at the Arena of Stars.
“This concert is the pinnacle of our career, which has spanned four decades now,” said frontman Amy. “We have all experienced so much during this period — all the good and bad. As a group, this is the core of Search, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.”
He added that since the band’s formation in the 1980s, the members have never taken their fame for granted, and that they live to entertain fans around the region with one concert after another.
Search also has a huge following in neighbouring countries like Singapore and Indonesia, respectively. Amy said that the band sees it as its responsibility to keep up with technology to make fans happy.
“Search is not one to turn down a challenge,” said Amy. “We respect our fans and care about the Search legacy too much to say no to rocking out on stage.”
Tickets for Konsert Fantasia Bulan Salju will go on sale on May 16 from 12 pm onwards. Prices start at RM128 and go up to RM388 (VIP Fantasia), excluding the processing fee.
VIP ticket holders are entitled to attend the meet-and-greet as well as receive a signed poster of the band.
