SEBUYAU: The Sebangan Health Clinic is set to undergo expansion with a total allocation of RM900,000 slated for next year.
Minister for Utility and Telecommunication, Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi, and Batang Lupar MP Mohamad Shafizan Kepli, have jointly contributed to the funds, allocating RM600,000 and RM300,000, respectively.
“I have approved an allocation of RM600,000 from the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) for 2024 to create and add new space needed by the clinic.
“Shafizan agrees to allocate RM300,000 from his RTP for 2024, and I hope this allocation will provide comfort to the local residents, as well as medical officers and clinic staff working here when the additional space is completed,” Julaihi said.
The Sebangan Health Clinic currently serves around 2,100 patients monthly. Julaihi and Shafizan participated in a First Aid and Repainting activity (gotong-royong) at the clinic, involving clinic staff, health officers from Samarahan Division, the Health Clinic Advisory Panel, and residents.
Dr Nur Fatihah Oh Abdullah, the medical officer of Samarahan Division, also attended the event.
Following the activity, Julaihi and Shafizan inspected the near-completed riverbank protection project in Kampung Sebangan.
They expressed hope that the project would mitigate coastal erosion, enhancing the safety and wellbeing of local residents.
