Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said the appointed consultant is currently preparing the plan, ensuring the project is progressing as scheduled.

“We are currently assessing the cost before presenting it to the Premier. Once he approves, we will announce the cost. The deep peat area poses challenges that could lead to uneven roads.

“We are exploring how this elevated road can enhance our road quality in the near future,” he told reporters after officiating at the International Conference of Tropical Geoengineering (Tropicon) 2024 at a leading hotel here, today.

Uggah, who is also the Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development, hoped that the conference would yield positive outcomes, particularly innovative solutions to support Sarawak’s development.
