LIMBANG: The second Limbang River Bridge construction project is expected to be completed in 2024.
Deputy Minister of Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail said the project has been delayed and stressed that it should be monitored to ensure project completion according to the timeframe.
“One of the major projects that has been delayed is the Limbang River Bridge and we were briefed by the Public Works Department (PWD) and this also includes Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan in Kuching.
“God willing, the bridge is expected to be completed in 2024.
“The people in Limbang are grateful to see the area is overflowing with many development projects and hopefully it will be implemented according to schedule.
“We are grateful that the current Unity Government at the federal level and the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS)-led government at the state level are both developing the state and this includes us in Limbang,” he said.
Abdul Rahman, who is also Bukit Kota assemblyman said this at the Ramah Tamah Aidilfitri programme organised by the Limbang Kedayan Association held recently.
The event gathered all 20 Kedayan villages in the area, which was aimed at strengthening the ties of the Kedayan community.
