SIBU: A security guard at a public library collapsed and died in his workplace at Jalan Mantis this morning (Jan 4).
The incident happened at 7.05 am and it prompted a four-man team from the Civil Defence Force (APM) to rush to the scene upon being alerted to the incident.
According to witnesses, Raymond Bungkong, 56, had earlier complained of breathing difficulties.
He was pronounced dead at 8.14 am by paramedics from Sibu Hospital who were at the scene. The victim’s body was handed over to the police for further action.
Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said the case has been classified as sudden death.
