KUCHING: Sarawak must continue to cultivate the pre-emptive security mindset across all levels of the workforce, ensuring that its people are well-prepared to respond to emerging threats with agility and confidence.

Utility and Telecommunication Minister Datuk Seri Julaihi Narawi said while the role of technology cannot be understated, collaborative measure are also crucial as the security of the critical infrastructure is not just the responsibility of the entity such as Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) and Sarawak Enforcement and Security Unit (UKPS), but also among members of the public as well.

“It requires coordinated efforts between government agencies, private sector partners, and of course members of the public here.

“Through knowledge sharing and the collaborative development of integrated response frameworks, we stand to further strengthen our collective defence against a range of threats, from cyber intrusion to physical attacks.

“The attacks might not happen in the near future, but must be prepared,” he said  his speech during the opening ceremony of  Critical Infrastructure Security Summit 2024 at Hikmah Exchange here today.
