KUCHING: Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC Sarawak) will continue to improve hawker markets under its management in Sibu and Miri, said its general manager Abdul Hadi Datuk Abdul Kadir.
“We are very responsive to the issues that have been raised by the people in Sibu and Miri. Therefore, the work to repair these markets is in progress,” he said in a press statement yesterday.
According to him, SEDC has resolved the issue of paying the electricity bills for its Medan Niaga Simpang 3 in Sibu.
“According to our internal investigation, the recent electrical disturbance was due to technical issues rather than arrears of bill payments as claimed by some quarters,” he added.
