KUCHING: Sarawak Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) will be working closely with the Malaysian Productivity Corporation (MPC) to help more local businesses and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) embrace digital economy.
SEDC Sarawak’s general manager Abdul Hadi Datuk Abdul Kadir revealed this during a courtesy visit by MPC Sarawak director, Sarimah Misman on him at the SEDC Headquarters recently.
He said they would be working with those involved in the SEDC entrepreneurship development programme.
“We believe that through the proposed cooperation with MPC, our local entrepreneurs can be pioneers of new pathways in the development of digital economy that will benefit the local community, Sarawak and the country as well,” he enthused.
According to Abdul Hadi, entrepreneurs have to be open-minded and continue to provide the best services to their customers after the Covid-19 pandemic is over.
The virus outbreak, he added, had tested the resilience of the business world.
“Given the challenges faced by local SMEs and entrepreneurs, SEDC Sarawak will continue to encourage them in seizing the opportunities to enhance their internal capabilities,” he added.
Sarimah also welcomed the proposed collaboration with SEDC Sarawak.
She said it would have positive impacts on both organisations.
