KUCHING: All SeDidik childcare centres and kindergartens now possess quality exceeding the minimum standards since the Sarawak government took over their administration in July 2020.
Minister of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development (KPWK) Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said SeDidik remains committed to strengthening equity access, early education quality and childcare.
“SeDidik in Sarawak maintains high quality. No childcare centres or kindergartens under SeDidik falls below the minimum standard,” said Fatimah in her speech during the Tadika SeDidik Kuching Zone 32nd Convocation Ceremony held here today.
Fatimah, who is also Dalat assemblywoman, added that under the Sarawak government, SeDidik practices an open door or inclusive policy.
“It means that we are not selective in accepting children, including those with special needs.
“Through SeDidik, Sarawak leads in terms of implementation of inclusive early childhood education,” she said.
Also present at the ceremony were KPWK’s deputy minister Datuk Rosey Yunus, KPWK’s permanent secretary Noriah Ahmad, SeDidik Sarawak general manager Ayib Dahari and Social Welfare Department director Adana Jed.
