TATAU: A total of 115 families from Kampung Baru Tatau and 126 families from Kampung Dagang Tatau received donations of sacrificial cows from Selangau MP Edwin Banta, benefiting the local communities.

The symbolic handover ceremony of the sacrificial cows took place at the Kampung Dagang Tatau Multipurpose Hall yesterday (June 28).

In his brief speech, Edwin expressed that the contributions were made in conjunction with the celebration of Aidiladha.

Each village received one cow in addition to 240 kilograms of frozen beef.

“Additionally, I also donated two goats for the new Muslim converts (mualaf) in the Tamin area,” he said.

Highlighting the significance of the event, Edwin emphasised the presence of both the Chinese and Iban communities, showcasing Tatau District as a place where people of different races and religions consistently come together to celebrate every occasion.

“In Tatau, we set an example for other districts by fostering unity, despite our differences in ethnicity and religion,” he added.
