KUCHING: Selangor Women Development and Social Welfare Exco wishes to study the model and establishment in ensuring the sustainability process of the programme for children with disability in Sarawak.

Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Well Being Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah said such a collaboration is a good step towards the well-being of the community in Malaysia.

“Therefore, we warmly welcome this working visit from Selangor Women and Social Welfare Development Committee chairman Anfal Saari and her delegation as it allows us to collaborate to achieve something positive.

“Similarly, we see in Selangor, there are good initiatives that can be learned from and exchange ideas with each other,” she said.

She said this when met by reporters after visiting the Community Social Support Centre (CSSC) here on Thursday. Also present was Anfal.

She added that the initiative is fully supported by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, thus considered Sarawak to be fortunate enough for it.

“This is while focusing on inclusivity based on the Post COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS) 2030,” she added.

Meanwhile, Anfal mentioned that the sustainability model implemented in Sarawak is somewhat different compared to Selangor.

However, she stated that it still shares the same objective, which is to ensure the well-being of the community.

“We, ourselves, are at the Sarawak CSSC where I observe a strong emphasis on inclusivity despite various entities and social issues being addressed.

“This is a very harmonious concept, and we want to learn how this concept is implemented,” she said.
