KUCHING: Senator Datuk Dr Zaedi Suhaili officiated at the Local Community Action Programme (KOMTIS) organised by the Malaysian Information Department, Sarawak (JaPen) with collaboration with the Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) Gita Lama at Surau Darul Naim, Kampung Gita Lama yesterday.
In his speech, Dr Zaedi said KOMTIS was one way to instil a close rapport between JaPen and the local villagers.
“Now, JaPen has prepared various presentation mediums to the people such as Info On Wheel (IOW) besides information through Facebook JaPen,” he said.
At the function, ‘bubur lambuk’ (savoury porridge) was also distributed to the villagers around Kampung Gita Lama and Gita Police Station.
Ten underpriviledged families from the village also received some monetary aid and daily necessities.
