GEDONG: Voters have been urged to guarantee that Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) wins all 31 parliamentary seats in the 15th general election (GE15).

Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan remarked that victory would continue Sarawak’s efforts at the federal level.

He asserted that although GPS only had 18 MPs when Parliament was dissolved, the coalition was able to alter the Federal Constitution to reflect the spirit and essence of the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) and the Inter-Governmental Committee Report (IGC).

“Thank you to the former MPs. Now, there are many more that we want to fight for…all our rights that have been eroded either intentionally or unintentionally. It should be returned to Sarawak.

“Therefore we need to send as many of our candidates as possible to the Dewan Rakyat to compete in 31 seats because this fight is for our state. We want to win handsomely so that our voice in Parliament will be stronger.”

He said this during the presentation of compensation with regard to the upgrading projects in Simunjan and Sebuyau at Dewan Patinggi Ali here today.

As such, he urged Sarawakians to reject the combined candidates of Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Perikatan Nasional (PN), instead giving solid support to all 31 GPS candidates.

On the same note, he called on the people and residents of Gedong to support GPS candidate for Batang Sadong, Rodiyah Sapiee.

“Keep in mind that when we win big, our MPs’ voices will be heard more, and they will push for a wider distribution of allocations, which is Sarawak’s right as one of the regions that make up Malaysia,” he stressed.
