KUCHING: An 84-year-old pedestrian died on the way to the Serian Hospital after he was run over by a 10-ton lorry on Tuesday night.
Bong Kua Chai, from Taman Desa Damai, Jalan Sibiyu, Bintulu suffered head and leg injuries. He was crossing the road when a lorry driver, who was heading to Serian from Kuching allegedly ran over
him at Km47, Kuching/Serian Road. Bong died on the way to hospital in an ambulance that was called by a passer-by.
Sarawak head of Traffic Supt Alexson Chabu Naga said that the street lights were not functioning at the location of the accident and it was dark. Police are investigating the incident.
