KUCHING: Parking woes at Sentosa Hospital will be a thing of the past once the construction of additional car parks is implemented soon.
Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap said the construction, made possible through a RM400,000 Rural Transformation Programme allocation from him, will be carried out and supervised by the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP).
“This is because the lack of parking spaces as well as people parking at the roadside have caused traffic inconveniences to visitors and outpatients seeking treatment at the hospital.
“Once completed, the additional parking lots will have proper entry and exit points and will definitely ease traffic congestion at the hospital,” he said in a statement after attending a meeting with officers from MPP and representatives from Sentosa Hospital and Department of Health Sarawak.
The meeting was held to identify a suitable site for the construction of additional car parks with proper drainage.
Yap said part of RM400,000 allocation would also be used for the installation six 1.5hp air-conditioners and minor upgrades for the multipurpose hall.
