Serba Dinamik donates RM500k face masks, hand gloves

KUCHING: Serba Dinamik Sdn Bhd donated RM500,000 worth of face masks and gloves to supplement the state government’s efforts in combating the Covid-19 pandemic.

The items consist of 286,000 pieces of disposable face masks and 100,000 pieces of hand gloves.

The donations were handed over by Serba Dinamik IT Solutions’ general manager (Operation) Abdul Qaiyum Alidin to State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) chairman Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas in a simple ceremony held at the old State Legislative Assembly (DUN) building in Petrajaya yesterday.

According to Serba Dinamik Sdn Bhd chairman Datuk Abdul Kadier Sahib, the aid was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) to assist communities, frontliners and government agencies.

Apart from medical supplies, Serba Dinamik is also providing immediate relief to families and individuals in need, particularly the B40 communities living in a few districts in Bintulu.

“The company, with the collaboration of two non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Bintulu, namely Skuad Prihatin Berkhidmat Berbakti and Skuad Team Sukarelawan Hikmah, has distributed 2,000 food baskets to B40 residents in Bintulu Division as well as 1,000 packs of food to frontliners in the Bintulu Hospital as well as police, army, Rela and Bomba personnel.

“The areas receiving the aid included Kampung Sinong, Masjid, Dato, Sebiew, Baru, Kuala Segan, Kuala Tatau, Jepak, Tanjung Batu, Kidurong, Pandan, Labang, Sebauh and Jalan Bintulu-Miri,” he said in a statement issued on the same day.

Abdul Kadier added the company also handed food packs to 550 of their daily paid staff in Bintulu.

“So far, Serba Dinamik has handed about RM395,000 worth of food baskets and packed food,” he said.

Before this, Serba Dinamik provided personal protective equipment (PPE) and other medical supplies of 100,000 pieces of face masks, hand sanitisers and infrared thermometers of up to RM1 million to Pusat Perubatan Universiti Malaya (PPUM), Hospital Canselor Tuanku Muhriz (HUKM), Hospital Serdang, Hospital Selayang, HKL and Hospital Sungai Buloh since March 28.

All in all, Serba Dinamik has so far rolled out a total of RM1,895,000 to help combat the Covid-19 pandemic  in the country.
