BARIO:  Serba Dinamik Sdn Bhd recently made a corporate donation of RM16,500 to the Pa’ Derung community.

The Pa’ Derung Longhouse was burnt to the ground on Mar 19; the blaze   left 11 families homeless and they also lost everything in the fire. The cause of the fire is still unknown.

The corporate donation was made through the company’s Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief Mission which took place from Apr 9 to 11.

Serba Dinamik’s senior vice president East Malaysia and Labuan Operation Zainulabidin Ismail, in a statement, said it was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme to give back to the community.

He added that the company allocated a portion of its profit to the community.

“We want to help those affected by any form of disasters. We also donate wheelchairs to those who need them.

Mulu assemblyman Datuk Gerawat Gala expressed his gratitude to Serba Dinamik for its generosity and efforts in helping the Pa’ Derung community.

“Even though Bario is far from the area where Serba Dinamik operates, it is still willing to come to Bario to help our family in Pa’ Derung.

“This means a lot not only to the Pa’ Derung community but also to the whole community in Bario. To me, this is a very genuine and big gesture so I would like to thank Serba Dinamik for this,” he said.
