KUCHING: Serba Dinamik has been chosen as the title sponsor of National ICT Association of Malaysia (Pikom)’s Unicorn Tech Awards Night 2019 to be held on
Oct 3 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
This was announced by Pikom chairman Ganesh Kumar Bangah at a press conference in
Kuala Lumpur on Sep 5.
He said this year, leading company in the oil and gas industry, Serba Dinamik came forward to position itself as the title sponsor of the event.
“Serba Dinamik values the recognition presented by Pikom, especially seeing the growth and transformation Pikom has gone through over the years from a cash & carry association to the true voice of the tech industry,” Ganesh said.
He added the association also has close relations with the Ministry of Communications and Multimedia and government agencies.
Meanwhile Group CEO of Serba Dinamik Datuk Dr Mohd Abdul Karim Abdullah mentioned over the past few years, Pikom has been playing the changemaker role
itself, becoming the advocate and voice for their members.
“We can definitely resonate with the association and we hope this relationship will spur higher growth for the industry,” he said.
Eight industry changemakers will be recognised during the awards night.
Among the eight categories for the award are ICT Organisation Excellence Award, Member Excellence Award, CIO Excellence Award, Technopreneur Excellence Award, ICT Personality of the Year, GBS Company of the Year, Regional ICT Company of the Year and Special Recognition Awards.
The awards, held for the first time in collaboration with Asia Pacific ICT Awards (Apicta) and the Global Business Services (GBS) Awards, will see more than 1,000 tech players celebrating each other at the most sought-after event of the country’s digital industry.
This is the thirty-first year Pikom is hosting the award. Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo will be gracing the award night.
Pikom is the association representing the information and communications technology (ICT) industry in Malaysia. Its membership currently stands at over 1,000 companies involved in a whole
spectrum of digital and ICT products and services which commands about 80 percent of the total Tech/ICT trade in Malaysia.
Pikom works to improve the business climate in the interests of all its member companies and to promote industry growth in line with national aspirations.
Pikom’s membership is open to all Malaysian companies who supply tech/ICT products and services in the computing and telecommunications industries. However, non-tech/non-ICT companies are also welcome to join the association as associate members.
