SERIAN: Fourteen men were nabbed by the police here for suspected drug abuse activities during ‘Ops Tapis Khas’.
Serian OCPD DSP Aswandy Anis said all the suspects were locals aged between 22 and 48.
He said the operation was carried out in several villages from Jan 21 to 23.
“During the operation, drugs were also seized – 20 straw tubes and 12 transparent plastic packets each containing crystallised substances, weighing about 9.87g,” he said on Wednesday (Jan 26).
The case is being investigated under Section 12 (2) and Section 15 (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
“If convicted, all suspects could face fines and imprisonment.”
DSP Aswandy revealed that police also seized five live shotgun rounds and further investigation into the seizure was underway.
