BINTULU: Narcotic police here arrested seven locals including a 16-year-old teenager for alleged involvement in substance abuse activities yesterday.
Bintulu OCPD Supt Batholomew Umpit in a statement, said the arrests were made around Tanjung Kidurong and Jalan Tun Hussien Onn.
“Seven men aged between 16 and 39, were detained on suspicion of engaging in substance abuse.
“One of them will be investigated under to Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 after he was found in possession of 0.8g of drugs believed to be syabu,” he said.
He added that all the suspects were tested positive for drugs and they will be investigated under Section 15(1)(c) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Both the suspects and the drugs were taken to the police station for further action.
