KUCHING: Police issued seven compounds to errant individuals for failing to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) in public places.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said Miri recorded with four compounds, and one each in Sarikei, Betong and Simunjan.

Moreover, about 7,585 vehicles were inspected at 10 roadblocks set up throughout Kuching district and this brought the number of cumulative vehicles inspected to 67,373.

It added that 191 vehicles had been ordered to turn back since Nov 9.

The Ministry of Local Government also issued 131 verbal, written, and seizure warnings in areas under the supervision of various local councils.

Under Ops Benteng, 1,600 vehicles were inspected at seven roadblocks in six districts — two in Lawas, and one each in Lundu, Bau, Serian, Sri Aman, and Lubok Antu.
