Seven-year-old boy feared drowned

DARO: A seven-year-old boy is suspected to have drowned after falling into a river at Kampung Sungai Passin here last Wednesday (Sept 16).

According to State Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a distress call on the incident was received at 2.55pm.

The victim was identified as Gabriel Lembang Anchau.

Following the call, Daro Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) despatched three firefighters, led by Senior Fire Officer II Mafri, to the scene.

“The firefighters took almost an hour to arrive at the location via boat. A search-and-rescue (SAR) operation was conducted and was adjourned around 6.30pm,” the statement said.

To date, the victim is still missing.
