KUCHING: Several roads will be closed and traffic diverted during the Old Kuching Smart Heritage Agenda 2019 festival from March 25-31.

Acting district police chief Supt Ismail Mahmood said the festival, organised jointly by Kuching  North City Hall (DBKU) in collaboration with the state government,  would be held along the whole stretch of Kuching Waterfront with various interesting events.

Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg is expected to officiate at its launch at 7pm on March 27.

To ensure the smooth-running of the festival, state traffic police personnel assisted by DBKU traffic warden would close several routes and divert traffic flow from the venue for the launch. The affected routes, Jalan Gambier and Jalan Main Bazaar, would reopen to traffic after 11pm.

Public who wish to come and witness the launching ceremony are advised to park their vehicles at Bangunan Saujana and the parking space of Poliklinik, Jalan Masjid.
