BINTULU: The Sarawak Forestry Corporation (SFC) has launched a 12-day crocodile hunting operation in Sungai Annap, Batang Tatau.
A notice on its Facebook page said the operation would begin today (Sept 26) until Oct 7.
The hunting operation involves a special taskforce led by SFC in collaboration of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and Tatau District Office.
Residents in the surrounding areas are advised to remain vigilant and refrain from carrying out activities in the river.
“For the time being, all activities are strictly prohibited within 5km upstream and downstream from the Tatau old market area.
“They are also prohibited from taking pictures or spreadinh false information to prevent unnecessary speculation,” SFC said.
Updates or official announcements regarding the operation, will be released by the corporation, PDRM or Tatau District Office.
