KUCHING: A 36-year-old patient at the Sarawak General Hospital here decided to take action into his own hands when his appeal for discharged was disallowed by doctors.

Around noon yesterday, he went to the Emergency Room of the hospital and noticed an ambulance from a private hospital parked outside with its engine running but without any driver.

Thinking he could escape with the ambulance, he took the driver’s seat and drove.

The police were alerted and a search was immediately mounted to locate the ambulance.

An hour later, the ambulance was found together with the suspect at Saberkas building.

Both vehicle and suspect were then brought back to the Sarawak General Hospital.
