BINTULU: About 400 guests attended the final of the Miss Grand Bintulu held in a hotel here last Saturday.
A total of 14 women took part in the final of the inaugural beauty pageant.
Sharon Ubung, 24, a holder of Bachelor Degree in Human Resource Development was crowned Miss Grand Bintulu 2018.
With the win she took home RM1,000, a golden crown from M.O Sarawak, a bouquet of flowers, air tickets to Kuala Lumpur and a complimentary stay for two days and one night at a leading hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Kim Kay Lab Malaysia products, SugarBun products, Tony Molly beauty products, a hamper from Drop Shop HQ.
The first runner-up was Mitchelle Guntur while the second runner-up was Vanessa.
Sarina Wan Ajang won the Miss Grand Talent title while Sherry Olia won the Miss Beautiful Body title.
Frennie Chua won the Best Catwalk category while Miss Congeniality title was won by Lesabeth Matt.
Corina Senia Jerry won the Miss Grand Popular title.
Divisional Director of Miss Grand Bintulu, Mitza said the top two winners will represent Bintulu division at the state-level final to be held in Sibu on 31 March.
In his speech, Mitza who is also the organiser of Miss Grand Bintulu and also patron of MO Sarawak also thanked the main sponsors and other parties involved directly or indirectly in the event.
The night was also enlivened by local singers namely Sita Jin, Sima and Diana Belikau.
Among those present at the event was Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Jenny Bangga.
