SANTUBONG: Shastaclaire Drickerson prevailed over the others and was crowned as this year’s Miss Cultural Harvest Festival.

The 18-year-old managed to beat 11 other contestants during the event’s grand finale which took place at the Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV).

As the beauty pageant grand winner she walked away with a cash prize of RM3,000, a crown, a trophy, a sash, a flower bouquet, a scholarship in eco-tourism under Institut Teknologi Maklumat Nusantara, a watch, and free stay at Riverside Majestic Hotel and Damai Beach Resort.

In addition she also won two subsidiary titles, namely the ‘World Harvest Festival (WHF) Photogenic Queen 2017’ as well as the ‘Eyesight Optic Beautiful Queen 2017’.

In second place was Phung Jin Wen, 25, who brought home a cash prize of RM2,000, a trophy, a sash, flower bouquet, a watch, and free stay at Riverside Majestic Hotel and Damai Beach Resort. Phung also won the subsidiary title of ‘WHF Fitness Queen 2017’.

Third place winner Caroline Kueh, 23, took home a cash of RM1,000, a trophy, a sash, flower bouquet, a watch, and free stay at Riverside Majestic Hotel and Damai Beach Resort.

In addition to that, Anasuziana Bong, 18, won the subsidiary title of ‘WHF Aquinaz Perfumes Queen 2017’ as well as ‘WHF Miss Talent 2017’.

Meanwhile, Rowena Jala (20), Rabbani Mariani Majid (20), Fiona Wilson (22), Hazmiena Zamri (20), Grandy Mina Mihim (22), Kimberley Mau Panus (19), Nur Asnieza Fatin Dolah (25), and Nurhafeeza Abdul Ellias (18) walked home with consolation prizes of RM300, a trophy, and a watch each.

Assistant Minister of Arts and Culture Datuk John Sikie Tayai and his wife Datin Melia Gelen gave away the prizes to the winners.

This year’s WHF  that was held from 28 to 30 April also showcased the ‘Ironman’ tournament, ‘Culinary Challenge’, and ‘Sape Concert’.
