KUCHING: The Sheraton Hotel Kuching has been awarded its halal certificate by the Sarawak Islamic Council, marking a significant milestone in ensuring compliance with Islamic laws.
The certificate, presented by Sarawak Islamic Council President Datuk Misnu Taha, was received by Sheraton Hotel Kuching Chief Executive Officer (Hospitality Division) Micheal Ho, during a ceremony held at the esteemed hotel yesterday (Feb 9).
Expressing satisfaction with the hotel’s commitment to Malaysian Halal Certification, the council commended Sheraton Hotel Kuching for its dedication to meeting halal standards.
Having successfully applied for and obtained the Malaysian Halal Certification, the hotel’s efforts have been recognised by the Sarawak Islamic Religious Department (JAIS).
The department lauded the initiative as a means of safeguarding halal interests, particularly for the Muslim community.
The halal certification handover ceremony was also witnessed by Sheraton Hotel general manager George Van Oosten and JAIS Halal Management division chief Ramzen Ambi.
