MIRI: A 50-year-old tile shop owne r incur red more tha n RM2,000 loss after his shop at Jalan Gardenia here was broken into, yesterday. The owner only realised his shop had been broken into after he was contacted by a worker at 8am.
A source said the owner rushed to the shop and when he arrived he was surprised to see the shop in a mess. “After a thorough inspection, the shop owner found several items missing including mobile phones and RM2,000 in cash,” the source said.
He said further checks discovered that the burglars were believed to have entered the premises by smashing the door lock. The shop owner later lodged a report at a police station.
