MIRI: A shopkeeper in Tudan here incurred RM1,200 in loss after a thief took away 40kg of anchovies (ikan bilis) from his shop.

According to sources, the thief had broken into the shop four times and each time, 10kg of anchovies worth RM300 were stolen.

The latest incident happened yesterday morning. The shopkeeper, in his 40s, discovered the theft at 6am.

Based on a CCTV footage installed at the shop, a chubby man is believed to be the prime suspect.

He was spotted wandering inside the shop prior to the incident.

The shopkeeper lodged a report at Lutong police station yesterday.
