KUALA LUMPUR: Short-term rates are expected to remain stable today on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) operations to absorb surplus liquidity from the financial system.

Today’s liquidity is estimated at RM32.55 billion in the conventional system and RM17.95 billion in Islamic funds.

The central bank will issue an RM8 billion range maturity auction money market tender for seven days to 31 days, RM3.7 billion Islamic range maturity auction Qard tender for seven days to 24 days and RM500 million Islamic range maturity auction Commodity Murabahah Programme for one day to 31 days.

BNM will also issue a RM500 million Bank Negara Interbank Bills for 33 days and RM500 million Bank Negara Interbank Bills Islamic for 91 days.

At 4 pm, BNM will conduct up to RM24.6 billion for conventional overnight tender and RM13.8 Billion for Murabahah overnight tender. – Bernama
