Riot officiates at inauguration ceremony of SK Triang, Serian.

Serian Member of Parliament Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem pointed this out when he officiated at the inauguration of SK Triang yesterday, thus showing his full support to educational institutions in areas under his jurisdiction.

As a new school, various critical situations were faced but among others, the teething problem was to start without a launch grant from the government.

During that time, the school only had 11 teachers including school headmaster.

Despite lack of boarding facilities, there were a total of 38 students who registered to stay at the dormitory.

At the same event, Ngiling Bidai ceremony was also hosted there as a concluding event of the Gawai Dayak festival.

Organisers used the occasion as an opportunity to enlighten guests with various contests including children’s Pekit Kumang (beauty pageant), Engkeratung (traditional music) and Ngirup Tuak (tuak drinking).
