KUCHING: A 31-year-old man has been placed on a six-month peace bond for making criminal threats against his elder brother with a machete.
Magistrate Zubaidah Sharkawi ordered Azrol Ahmat to maintain the six-month peace bond with RM500 bail after he pleaded guilty to a charge framed under Section 67 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
According to the facts of the case, the 33-year-old brother (complainant) was sleeping in the living room when he was disturbed by his younger brother’s singing around 10am on Jan 27.
Azrol was reprimanded by his elder brother and told to lower his volume while singing in their residence at Taman Cemerlang.
The situation escalated when Azrol pointed a machete at his brother while uttering threatening words.
Fearing for his safety, the older brother fled and filed a police report, which led to Azrol’s arrest.
